August 20, 2008 - 6th edition of MUSICWOMAN TALK RADIO

Diva JC has applied for her Ph.D. in Leadership & Education - Exceptional Student Education at Barry University. Once she has taken the GRE at the end of July, she will be prepared to register for classes starting January 12, 2009, but. . .

Diva JC will tour from Sept 7 to Oct 16 in Switzerland and Krakow, Poland to perform with Poland's oldest Jazz Band and possibly record with them September 25-27, 2008

On October 30, 2008, she'll present WOMEN IN JAZZ REHEARSAL WORKSHOP at AARLCC

On November 8, 2008, @ 2 p.m. Diva JC will do a book signing at Border's on E. Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale

She is invited to the Hawaii International Conference on Arts & Humanities to present:

1. Women in Jazz Workshop (90-minutes) on Jan 9-12, 2009
2. Jazz: The Unmasked Rhetoric (Panel Discussion)

Miss Sandra Kaye has returned to Dallas, after a very fruitful gig in Kyoto, Japan. She will be visiting Diva JC in Florida, in October, and participate in WOMEN IN JAZZ REHEARSAL WORKSHOP at AARLCC

Jus' Cynthia returned on July 17, from Manila, Philippines, after a 4-month gig there. The Divas celebrated with a day at the Russian Turkish Bath in Miami Beach!

We're pleased to announce receipt of notice of our first grant from the Friends of the African American Research Library and Cultural Center in the amount of $3,000 for the following program:

  1. Two 60-minute rehearsal workshops with WOMEN IN JAZZ on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. open to students of area performing arts school students (i.e., Dillard H.S., Parkway Middle, etc.) that shall be invited by AARLCC’s staff and by WIJSF, INC. in a timely manner so as to fill the 300-seat auditorium at both workshops and

  2. One 1.5-hour concert of WOMEN IN JAZZ in March, 2009, date and time to be scheduled with AARLCC

Members of the ensemble are:
